Late Spring 2013:  The Hellraisers continue

I’ve finally recovered from RT just in time for the release of DEMON’S BRIDE, which is now available.  Check out the trailer, too, where I interview a very special guest.

Meanwhile, I’m busy writing the next Ether Chronicles story.  Nico Rosso’s installment in the Ether Chronicles, NIGHT OF FIRE, will be out in July.  Steampunk Western!  

I have a few appearances in June, including a signing at Mysterious Galaxy Bookstore in Redondo Beach, California, along with Nico Rosso, Lisa Kessler, and Linda Wisdom.  Also, I’ll be speaking at the Wisconsin Romance Writers of America Write Touch Conference, alongside guest speakers Elizabeth Hoyt, Jade Lee and Carrie Lofty.  For more details, check out my Appearances page.

April 2012: Spring Madness

Spring is here, and with it, lots of exciting news!

First, SKIES OF FIRE releases in e-format on April 3, and is available as a POD book on April 17. I’m guest blogging all over the place to help promote the book, so check out my Appearances page to see where I’ll be. The early reviews for Skies of Fire have been great, including this one from Library Journal:

Wednesday:

1:00-2:00: Romance Reader Family Feud, hosted by me, Nico Rosso, Tessa Dare, Vivian Arend and Louisa Edwards. This game is going to be tons of fun, with lots of laughs and plenty of prizes.

3:30-4:30: Love, Monsters & Mythology: a panel about using mythological archetypes from around the world to bring characters to life, and make your work stronger and more resonant, featuring myself, Stephanie Draven (aka Stephanie Dray), Leanna Renee Hieber and Jackie Barbosa.

6:00-7:30: I'm one of many historical romance authors hosting the Speakeasies, Flappers & All that Jazz social event. We'll have fun games, refreshments and snacks, and lots of awesome prizes.

Thursday:

10:00-11:00: Kiss Me, Kill Me: Writing Action Scenes With Heart, a panel with me, Nico Rosso, Laurie London, Ilona Andrews and Larissa Ione, where we discuss how to write action scenes for romance novels. This is going to be packed with tips and information!

12:20-1:20: Kensington Books & All That Jazz: a social event hosted by Kensington featuring me and tons of great Kensington authors, plus snacks and prizes.

4:00-6:00: I'm signing at the E-Book Expo, including copies of Skies of Fire!

Friday:

1:30-2:30: Carina Press Romance Bingo: I, Nico Rosso, Angela James, and many other Carina authors will be calling bingo for a fast-paced game filled with fun and prizes.

6:15-7:15: Avon's Indigo Lounge will be a social events featuring some of the biggest names in romance (and me, heh), plus there will be hors d'oeuvres and signed books, including print copies of Skies of Fire.

Saturday:

11:00-2:00: Signing at the giant Book Fair.

8:00-9:00: Cocktails with Carina Press: drinks, snacks, and guests will be entered in a drawing to win an iPad 2!

9:00-Midnight: Harlequin's Night of the Stars: dancing, dancing, dancing!

On Sunday, I fly home to L.A. and pass out.

Next month: prepare to fall for a demon!

March 2012:  Warming up

The days are getting warmer, and my publishing and travel schedules are heating up!

I have two appearances in March, and both of them promise to be tons of fun!  First, I’ll be at the Tucson Festival of Books March 10 and 11. Then, you can find me in Sin City—that’s right, I’m headed to Las Vegas for a multi-author appearance and signing on March 17. You’ll find me, Tessa Dare, Courtney Milan, Lauren Dane, Megan Hart, Ann Aguirre and Vivian Arend at the Little Chapel of the Flowers, where we celebrate romance and romance readers. There’s a new addition to my Books page—The Ether Chronicles. Here you’ll find an excerpt and links to pre-order my first steampunk romance, SKIES OF FIRE, which will be available on April 3.

I’ve also added an excerpt for DEMON’S BRIDE so you can get a taste of the book in advance of its May 1 release.

Winter 2012: Even more

CHAIN REACTION is now available! The hero, Nils, is one of my favorite types of heroes: the kick-ass nerd.  Give me a brainy, shy guy who can also kick ass, and I swoon.  RT Book Reviews gives CHAIN REACTION Four Stars and says, “a great mix of action and adventure as well as several tender, emotional scenes that readers will definitely enjoy.” 

In the meantime, I’ve finished SKIES OF FIRE: THE ETHER CHRONICLES, my first steampunk romance for Avon Impulse.  Even more exciting—Nico Rosso (a.k.a. my husband and author of the forthcoming post-apocalyptic romance THE LAST NIGHT for Carina Press) will also be writing stories set in the Ether Chronicles world!  Nico’s books will be steampunk Westerns, and mine will be steampunk Everywhere Else.  All Ether Chronicle stories will be published by Avon Impulse—in fact, Nico and I are launching Avon Impulse’s foray into the steampunk realm!

And I’m hard at work on the first NEMESIS, UNLIMITED novel.  I also have a few appearances coming up, including Passion and Prose on February 25 in Long Beach, CA, a big ol’ group author signing in Las Vegas on March 17 (details forthcoming), and the Tucson Festival of Books on March 10 and 11.  Be sure to follow me on Facebook , Twitter and Tumblr for the latest updates.

December 2011: Holiday gifts

DEVIL’S KISS is now available!  I’m so excited to have my bad boys out in the world, breaking hearts and raising hell.  Speaking of which, DEVIL’S KISS received 4 1/2 Stars and Top Pick from RT Book Reviews, calling it “Feminist, emotional and absolutely a ‘keeper.’”  Wouldn’t it make a great holiday gift for someone special?  Or maybe it’s time to treat yourself to a little sizzle in your holiday season.

Coming up in January, CHAIN REACTION, my next sci-fi romance, will be available, too!  Check the Sci-Fi page for pre-order links and an excerpt.  Publishers Weekly says, “Archer pairs polar opposites with explosive results in her fast-paced second 8th Wing sci-fi romance...Rapid-fire, hair-raising twists and turns lead to a satisfying denouement.”

Meanwhile, sharp-eyed regular visitors to this website may have noticed a new addition to the Coming Soon column above.  I now have a title, series title and release date for my first official steampunk romance, SKIES OF FIRE: THE ETHER CHRONICLES (Book 1).  Within the next few months, I’ll unveil the cover and have an excerpt here on my website.

Fall 2011, Part Two:

Very exciting news—I have just sold a three-book historical romance series to St. Martin’s Press!  The first book in the NEMESIS, UNLIMITED series will make its debut early in 2013.  The premise, as I’ve been pitching it, is Burn Notice/Leverage in Victorian England.  Expect plenty of action, diabolical cons, and sizzling hot romance!

Fall 2011: The wind up

Always busy here at Chateau Archer!

I’m winding up for the December 6 release of DEVIL’S KISS, have finished edits on DEMON’S BRIDE (Hellraisers #2, May 2012), writing SINNER’S HEART (Hellraisers #3, 2013) and working on my new steampunk series for Avon Impulse.  Meanwhile, my next sci-fi romance, CHAIN REACTION (8th Wing #2) will be out in January from Carina Press. 

DEMON’S BRIDE is already available for pre-order on Amazon.  As soon as I have a link for CHAIN REACTION, I’ll post it here.

Speaking of Amazon, did you know you can get the entire BLADES OF THE ROSE series for only $8.84 for your Kindle?  Talk about an amazing deal!  The bargain shopper in me is actually a little sad that I wrote the books, since I’ve got no reason to get this deal.  But that doesn’t mean you can’t!

Summer 2011:  Vacation! Not!

Busy months here at Casa Archer.  I just turned in copy edits on DEVIL’S KISS, and finished DEMON’S BRIDE, the second Hellraisers book.  But there’s no rest for the wicked, since I’m turning right around and working on SINNER’S HEART, the third Hellraisers books. 

Oh, and in the middle of this, I’m currently writing CHAIN REACTION, the next book in my 8th Wing sci-fi romance series.  Speaking of which, there was a slight scheduling snafu, and the release date for CHAIN REACTION is now January 9, 2012. 

I’m also working on my new steampunk series for Avon Impulse.  So, yes, summer is almost here, but that doesn’t mean vacation for me, not with so many exciting books to write!

At the end of June, I’ll be heading out to New York for the annual RWA National Conference.  You can find me at the massive Literacy Signing on Tuesday, June 28 from 5:30-7:30 pm.  I will also be on the workshop panel “The Quick Release Trilogy: How to Sell It, Write It, and Market It” on Thursday, June 30 from 8:30-9:30 am (bring coffee).  And then, please think happy thoughts for me as I attend the RITA Award ceremony on July 1 as a nominee for Best Paranormal Romance.  If you see me at the conference, be sure to ask for your set of Romance Trading Cards, including a brand-new card for DEVIL’S KISS.

Now, I might not get much of a vacation this summer, but surely you will.  When heading out to the beach or mountains or park, or, heck, even your own couch, why not treat yourself to some exciting sci-fi romance?  Nico Rosso’s PUSHED TO THE LIMIT is available now!

Many people have been wondering if there will be more books in the 8th Wing series.  And the answer is: Yes!  CHAIN REACTION will be published by Carina Press on 11/28, and (spoiler alert!) it will be Lt. Celene Jur’s story.  I really love her hero, too.  Hint: he’s a sexy nerd, my favorite.

On May 6, I will be on several panels at the Gaslight Gathering in San Diego, talking about steampunk and romance.  If you live in the Southern California area, stop on by, and bring your goggles!

I’m also participating in Brenda Novak’s On-line Auction for Diabetes Research.
